Mark became a member of the Pacifica Consortium in 1987.

Expertise

Mark is a former engineer with Rockwell and Boeing in the field of Electromagnetic and Environmental Effects. He also has experience in the dental field as well as experience in the veterinary sciences.

Career

Mark is one of the original members of the Pacifica Consortium back in its infancy in the 1980’s. Mark started his work with Pacifica Consortium while volunteering as an engineering consultant to a handicapped hospital in Downey, California. He and his fellow engineers worked to develop several patient monitoring devices through a hospital grant.

Educational Background

Mark holds a Bachelors Degree in Physics. He is presently working on his Masters in Health Informatics. He also holds certificates in Medical Device Manufacturing, Clinical Trials and Facilities Management.

Personal Background/Interests

Mark has been a life long volunteer in the medical and animal protection fields. His beginnings were at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Downey, California. He spent several years at the hospital as a volunteer engineer helping medical researchers attack complex technical problems with patient rehabilitation from traumatic brain injury. From there, he met his wife and fellow researcher Jannette Trent. Their merging into an inseparable team, pulled them both into the dental sciences and eventually into the veterinary sciences due to their love of animals. Due to his Rockwell ties with the space program, Mark was deeply involved with the environments sciences discipline. He successfully merged these multiple fields of study into his involvement with the Pacifica Consortium. He found his lifetime home here. Volunteer work, medical, dental, veterinary and pure sciences…and a wife to boot!

Research Interests

Mark’s research interests span across several areas. His primary three interests though deal with animal health, environmental simulation and new materials development. This is why we placed him into our environments sciences. He is constantly working on building us some new form of environment simulation chamber or test system.
